Scheduled for Friday, May 18, 2018, at Ibis Hotel Birmingham
The Mary Webb Society is a member of the A.L.S., an organisation which links and promotes literary societies. It currently represents 125 societies from a broad spectrum of literature. The annual event usually showcases one writer and the weekend is an opportunity for the host society to promote the writer to a wider audience. The weekend usually takes place in the area associated with the writer to fully appreciate their life and work.
This year will be slightly different as the event will see a return to Birmingham where the event used to be held before it became a “moveable feast” celebrating their 45th birthday. The venue will be:
Ibis New Street Hotel Birmingham, 21 Ladywell Walk B5 4ST (10 minutes walk from New St Station) The programme will include talks by local societies. Tim Robertson, the Director of the Royal Society of Literature, will be the keynote speaker.
