The summer walk led by chairman Gordon Dickins is a regular feature of the summer school weekend. Gordon will lead the walk and share his knowledge of this beautiful landscape in the heart of Mary Webb country and its major role in the filming of Gone to Earth.
Meet at The Bog Visitor Centre, SY5 0NG 10.30 am for a 10.45 start
Distance: approx 5 miles, moderate walking with just an initial uphill section from the car park and a longer, but not too daunting climb about half way round. Our lunch break stop will be amidst the scattered stones of what would have been Deborah and Stephen’s cottage from “The Golden Arrow.” This is Gordon’s favourite Shropshire location in the heart of Mary Webb Country. It is always a joy to follow our flockmaster and share in his knowledge and joy in the beauty of Shropshire. What better way to finish the afternoon than with a cuppa and cake at The Bog Visitor Centre.
Took place on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at The Bog Visitor Centre
