Unfortunately the Alliance of Literary societies AGM has been cancelled due to Covid 19 . The event was due to be hosted by the Leo Walmsley Society at Robin Hood’s Bay. This is sad to hear as so much work goes into this weekend event by the host society. It provides a marvellous opportunity to showcase a writer and encourage a greater appreciation of their work. The A.L.S. was formed in 1973 as an umbrella organisation for literary societies and groups in the UK. They have grown from strength to strength and now represent around 125 societies.
The Mary Webb Society has been affiliated to the ALS for many years and our representative and members have greatly benefited from the exchange of ideas, opportunities for networking and generally widening our literary horizons.
