The Mary Webb Society

After discussion with committee members and in line with Government guidelines during this Covid19 crisis, we feel that we have no option but to cancel this year’s summer school and walk scheduled for 27th & 28th June. We are so sorry to cancel our main events of the year particularly as so much work has gone into the planning of them, but as you can understand, safety of our members is the prime concern in these extraordinary times.
As you know, one of our main themes for this year was to celebrate the centenenary of the publication of House in Dormer Forest. We would still urge you to read/reread the novel and let us know your favourite passages or impressions of the novel for Liz Stamps to include in the Autumn newsletter which otherwise will be looking pretty sparse. It would also be good to hear your lockdown stories particularly if you have found a stronger connection with nature and generally how you have filled your days.
No decision has been made yet about the AGM scheduled for 26th September. Obviously we will keep you informed.  Please send all contributions for the newsletter to lizstamps@yahoo.co.uk
We hope you are all staying safe and well and look forward to meeting up again when we are advised it’s safe to do so
With all good wishes
The committee of The Mary Webb Society
