The Mary Webb Society

2020 should have been the year to celebrate the centenary of the publication of Mary Webb’s fourth novel,           “The House in Dormer Forest,” the story of the Darke family living in the oppressive atmosphere of Dormer Old House. It explores the influence of the house and its environment on the inhabitants. Sadly, Corona virus put a stop to all our plans, like so many organisations but we are hoping to reschedule the programme next year. In the meantime, our chairman and landscape photographer, Gordon Dickins has put on his walking boots to explore and capture the landscape of the novel in a series of stunning pictures.

Enjoy the pictures, be inspired by the landscape and read the novel!
