The Mary Webb Society

The society has recently acquired a rare and precious letter from Mary Webb at auction in Whitchurch. It was written in 1915 as she was preparing The Golden Arrow for publication. Mary talks about being busy nursing. This is a reference to her voluntary nursing during World War One.

Society member Margaret Austin bid on the telephone on behalf of the society. It is hoped that the letter will shortly take pride of place in the Treasures Exhibition at Shrewsbury Museum.
