It is with great sadness that we have to tell you of the death of our dear friend  and long-standing member of the Society, Margaret Austin.

Margaret passed away on Friday 12th October 2018 at Stretton Hall nursing home, All Stretton, where she received loving care.

Margaret was a life member of the society having joined in 1975. She held several committee posts over the years including vice chair, Alliance of Literary Societies representative and summer school director. She was such a strong supporter of the society and tireless promotor of Mary Webb. Her many achievements included the production of a play, an LP record as well as talks and interviews with people who knew Mary Webb.

Her warmth,friendship, wisdom, enthusiasm and inimitable fashion sense will be missed by us all.

The funeral will be held on Monday 12th November at St Laurence’s Church, Church St, Church Stretton, Shropshire SY6 6DQ
at 2.00 pm. Flowers welcome

Cards of condolence can be sent to 5 Shrewsbury Road, Church Stretton SY6 6JA
The funeral will be a celebration of Margaret’s long and wonderful life.
