The Mary Webb Society

Thank you so much for what you have already done to support the Shrouds of the Somme project.

You will know that on 10 May they launched a campaign to fundraise £150,000 to bring this extraordinary commemoration to fruition. The ‘all or nothing’ crowdfunding campaign will end on 18 June.

Despite an overwhelmingly positive response to the project, only £35,000 has been raised so far. We need many more people to pledge the remaining £115,000 in the next 12 days.

It is a huge challenge but we believe that it can be done.

If each of the 3,000 people we are emailing pledges only £10, right now, and then shares this with 3 others who do the same, we will have achieved our target.

Rob needs to continue working 15 hours a day to make the 72,396 shrouds in time for the installation in November 2018. As he does so, each of those men whose bodies were never recovered from the battlefields of the Somme will individually be remembered.

You can back this project for any amount from £10 and have your name added to our supporters list or remain anonymous if you choose. Rewards include remembering one of the Fallen, an individually named shroud, commemorative photo book and a private viewing of the installation.
